A dog-friendly Bolthole for six with rural views, close to Benllech beach
Awel y Mor sits on the edge of the seaside village of Benllech on the east coast of Anglesey. The village and its vast sandy beach are just a short stroll away, and to the rear of this peaceful holiday house are expansive countryside views.
There are three bedrooms - a king room on the ground floor and upstairs, a super king which can be split into two singles on request and a twin room. There are two newly-installed bathrooms - a shower room downstairs and a family bathroom upstairs.
The extended kitchen area has been purposefully designed as a sociable and well-equipped space for holidaying families or friends. It is a large open space with direct access through the huge bi-fold windows to a lovely terrace - fold the windows back on sunny days and bring the garden right into the house. There's a dining table for six and a kitchen island with stools for less formal occasions. The kitchen is an entertainer's dream, with two ovens, a large hob, a wine fridge, a dishwasher and plenty of fridge and freezer space. There's also a utility room beyond, with a washing machine and tumble dryer and outside access.
Beyond the kitchen is a lovely sitting room with a huge L-shaped sofa. Sit back, relax in front of the TV, or look out through the patio doors to the views beyond. The composite decked terrace outside spans the width of the house and has sunbathing areas with loungers. The dining area with garden furniture has a glass balustrade which provides shelter on windier days. Steps lead from the terrace down to a lawned area and a further garden area beyond, with a summer house and greenhouse, with views of the surrounding rolling countryside and woods.
To the front of Awel y Mor is a further lawned garden with plenty of parking on the driveway.
Benllech has a good range of pubs and restaurants close by, along with a couple of great cafes, a fresh seafood shack and an award-winning chippy. The small Tesco and Coop stores are useful for day-to-day shopping. Below the village is Traeth Benllech - a beautiful golden sweep of sandy beach popular with families and watersports enthusiasts. With the Anglesey coastal path stretching away in both directions, you can walk for miles, taking in the sea views and maritime scenery.
Awel y Mor is a lovely Bolthole from which to head out and about to explore the island of Anglesey. Or you could stay home and relax in this comfortable holiday house!
