Amazing views from this harbour-side Hideaway for 8
Without actually owning a yacht, Min y Wygyr is the closest you can get to taking a mooring in Cemaes Bay harbour and waking up on the sea! This four-bedroom, three-bathroom holiday house for eight is perched right on the harbour's edge and its amazing raised balcony gives incredible views over the harbour, beaches and headland beyond.
There is parking for two cars on the drive outside the front door and once you enter you'll find three bedrooms (2 doubles and one bunk room) on the ground floor as well as a family shower room.
Once upstairs, you'll find why the spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen area is on this level. It really feels like you're floating above the harbour - the large windows and glass balustrade on the balcony outside mean that you don't miss any of that view. This is a light and bright space, from the well equipped kitchen, and sociable dining area to the comfortable living area which is a perfect place to relax and watch the boats bobbing below. There is also another double bedroom, a family bathroom and an additional shower room on this level.
To the rear of the house is a sheltered gravelled garden with a picnic bench for eight. There are also recliners for sunny days a BBQ for sociable meals and a firepit for chilly evenings. Beyond, there is a further garden area bordering the river with steps down into the water- a perfect place to launch a kayak or paddleboard from but do be careful as the steps are steep and can be a bit slippery!
Min y Wygyr is in the heart of the village and within a couple of minutes walk you'll find the Stag Inn, Ye Olde Vigour pub and The Harbour Hotel as well as a selection of small independent shops and art galleries. Boat trips and fishing expeditions can be taken from the harbour and you can buy fresh crab and lobster from the harbour wall.
There are two beautiful sandy beaches that flank the bay, one with a beach bar making wood fired pizzas. Continue along this beach and you'll find the path to the Gadlys Hotel which is one of our favourite places to eat in the area, well worth the 10-minute walk!
Should you want to walk further, you'll find this section of the Anglesey coastal path to be stunning. We're sure you will love the beautiful walks from the village along the beach and over the cliffs to the ancient church of Llanbadrig.
