A 300 year old Hideaway with stunning views in the heart of Anglesey
Cwter Hywel is a beautifully restored typical Anglesey cottage sitting in total seclusion in the heart of Anglesey. Leave the busy roads over the bridges onto Anglesey, set off along quieter roads which eventually turn into country lanes before taking the track down to Cwter Hywel. It's like leaving the world behind!
Restored by a local family who farms the land nearby, they have succeeded in transforming this Bolthole into a welcoming basic holiday cottage. It retains all the charm and character they remember as children spending time there.
Cwter Hywel sits in almost an acre of grounds, with a large lawned garden and outside dining area facing the fantastic views of the Snowdonia mountains. Along one side is a range of rustic outbuildings, one of which contains a darts room and a simple sitting area.
Inside the house, you'll find a utility area with a washing machine, tumble dryer and sink. Step from this room through to the modern kitchen/dining room and the light, airy downstairs shower room. Beyond this, there is the traditional parlour which opens up to a conservatory with magnificent views of the gardens and mountains. On wet days and colder evenings, relax in the cosy sitting room with sofas, a TV and a wood-burning stove that nestles in a stone fireplace.
Through a doorway in the three-foot thick stone walls, you'll find the double bedroom and a bunk room. There is also a crogloft bedroom with twin beds up the steep ladder steps to the roof space.
Cwter Hywel is a simple, cosy holiday cottage. A peaceful, no-frills base perfect for exploring the island and escaping from the demands of everyday life.
