Penlon is a simple base for four guests with the Oyster Catcher and a shop less than a mile away.

It is right by the road and is semi-detached, but views from the garden at the rear to countryside fields make up for that - a divine place to have morning coffee. Plus there is a delectable beach around the corner, a short stroll just along a path through the marram grass.

For larger groups, Bodwarren next door can be hired at the same time perhaps to make a place for eight guests to stay. Close enough to be together for meals in the garden, but with their own space. For the really large groups, Hideaway is a reasonably close neighbour, so food for thought for friends and family to be close by!

Feel toasty by the wood stove on a comfy bright red sofa. Sleep peacefully under a bright quilt in the double room and wake up to country views or brave the bunk beds in the twin! The kitchen is light and adequate with great views over fields. The bathroom is simple with a bath and shower over. There is a side path to the back door to bring the pooch straight in from the back garden or from the front of the cottage.

Stride the coastal path from Penlon to find many other beaches. Porth Tyn Towyn, Porth Nobla or along to Rhosneigr. For the fun seekers, there is kite surfing here or pop along to the racetrack Anglesey Circuit/Trac Mon. Aberffraw is down the road for more beaches and Llanddwyn Island and the nearby Newborough forest has a fantastic network of footpaths.

Penlon is a lovely cottage in a great location, with lots to do in the area, plus a nearby shop and Rhosneigr nearly on the doorstep. The hard floors make it perfect for dogs, as does the fenced garden. The short walk from the cottage over the dunes to the beach is a real bonus. The long beach is fantastic for walks and for relaxing. The property was also sensibly priced. We had a lovely week and hope to return again in the future.

Another great holiday in Penlon cottage near Rhosneigr Clean, comfortable cottage within walking distance of an amazing beach and a pleasant walk to the Oystercatcher for lunch!!! Looking forward to being back very soon.

I love Penlon for its location alone and would choose it over plusher properties because it’s easy to keep clean, great for dogs, comfortable, has everything we need and the heating system is very efficient. It is definitely my go-to place for some recharge and the beach is just stunning, especially at sunrise/sunset when we had it all to ourselves. Perfect! Thanks so much and see you next month

Just back from a glorious week in Anglesey and Penlon was the perfect base for us with two dogs in tow. Location couldn’t have been better ….just a brief walk through the dunes to a nearby deserted beach and fantastic walking to be had from easy access to the coastal path. We walked 56 miles over 6 days, Rhosneigr itself so dog friendly …. It kind of made us not want to stray far from base since it had everything we needed. Cottage was comfortable, well equipped and super-easy to keep clean. We loved it and will be back for sure, particularly interested in booking both Penlon and Bodwarren simultaneously next time for a family trip. Boltholes and Hideaways we had not known before but will happily recommend. Communication was great and the standard of accommodation couldn’t be faulted. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay……
