Well-hidden down country lane find this lovely old barn for 8, set in a walled garden on an ancient estate.
Downstairs is open plan with a kitchen to the side and has all you need for cooking up supper. The space is luxuriously restored with lovely touches; a table for gathering the clan to dine is set within one of the old stable stalls for example. Quite lovely. Or you can spill out onto your own nicely private, sheltered patio with table and chairs for a barbecue and a dip in the hot tub.
There is a vast living space with a wood stove - a super place to crash after a day of hearty walking. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms are on the first floor – comfortable and with plenty of light. Two rooms have vast beds with a smart upholstered headboard and good quality cotton sheets. The other two rooms have twin beds with striking art. Find three bathrooms; two are ensuites. A family bathroom with proper bath as well as a shower is shared and has a selection of lotions.
You can walk country lanes for miles, or you can simply drive 10 minutes to the coast. Rhosneigr is bustling with fun beaches, cafes, bars, galleries and shops. The Rhosneigr golf course is welcoming. Admire the pretty views of the Church on the Island at Porth Cwyfan or a briks walk on sandy Aberffraw beach. It’s a minute’s walk to the village from the beach there to breakfast at Llys Llewelyn Cegin Bar. Trac Mon overlooks the same coast and has events for the race lovers. Eryri (Snowdonia National Park) is calling to be explored.
Return home for long summer evenings in the garden – fire up the barbecue, get in the hot tub and chatter and sip.
