February half term is a funny old school holiday. Everyone's tired after the post-Christmas stretch and the weather can be so changeable. This time last year, of course, we were all locked down and getting away simply wasn't an option. Well, this year we can and if you are thinking of a last-minute getaway, we still have availability for next week for an escape to one of our cosy North Wales holiday cottages.
We know that a good blast on the beach does a power of good and that's where we'll be heading with the kids in tow. Collecting shells, picking up sea glass treasure, building the first sandcastles of the year perhaps and plenty of fresh sea air. Flasks of hot chocolate, accompanied by a slice of home bake - sticky fingers all round.
We've also done our homework and there are plenty of family-friendly attractions open, helping to colour in your time away. Do check individual websites for opening times and prices.
Nature and animal lovers will enjoy visiting Pili Palas, Anglesey Sea Zoo and Foel Farm.
Go indoor climbing at the Beacon Climbing Centre or at Adventure Parc Snowdonia or mountain biking at Coed y Brenin.
Explore one or more of North Wales' stunning medieval castles in Conwy, Beaumaris, Caenarfon, Dolbadarn, Criccieth and Harlech. The Cadw website has opening times and ticket prices for each.
Take a steam train trip along the Llanberis Lake Railway and, whilst you are there, pay a visit to The National Slate Museum.
Garden lovers will enjoy a potter around Bodnant Garden, Plas Newydd or at Penrhyn Castle where the railway museum and the Victorian kitchens are also open; their cafes and shops at all three are open as well.
And we've made it easy for you to find your half-term cottage by including links to availability below.
