The Granary is a recent conversion of a lovely old stone farm outbuilding, perched above the Conwy Valley with views for miles. A narrow lane winds up from the valley floor, through the ancient village of Llanbedr y Cennin to reach The Granary. The village was once an artist's colony (a number of notable artists are buried in the parish church) and was on the old drovers route over the nearby Carneddau. The excellent village pub, Ye Olde Bull Inn, has fed and watered genrations of drovers during its 500 year history and is a pleasant walk from the Granary. There are excellent walks from the house up to the high Carneddau following the drovers routes.
The Granary was once part of the farm of Llwyn y Gwaew and is now a beautiful cottage for 2. Downstairs there is a kitchen, shower room and sitting room while upstairs, there is a spacious bedroom with the dressing room beyond. There is a parking space right outside and a sunny, private sitting area with outside furniture to the rear overlooking fields and green hills. The owners live in an adjacent barn conversion and also on site is The Piggery which sleeps 5 and is also available to book through Boltholes.
The world renowned Bodnant Gardens is on the opposite side of the valley as is Zip World Forest. Conwy, with its medieval castle, excellent independant shops and well regarded restaurants, is a 15 minute drive away. The gateway to Eryri (Snowdonia)- the village of Betws y Coed, is 20 minutes in the opposite direction.
