A spacious Bolthole for eight with sea views ideal for golfing breaks
Garreg Hen commands breathtaking views over the coast to the sea. Huge windows in every room make the most of this coastal Hideaway's position, flooding the house with that special light that you only find near the sea.
A modern, dog-friendly holiday house for eight, Garreg Hen perches above Trearddur Bay and is located directly opposite the golf club. Turn into the driveway off quiet Lon Garreg Fawr and park up.
Entry to the house is at ground floor level. Step into the central atrium where a soaring open plan staircase and full-height windows opposite impress. Several rooms lie off this space- the kitchen/dining space, the living room, an office, and a shower room.
The exceptionally well-equipped kitchen is beautifully designed for spacious entertaining and, with windows to three elevations, commands views for miles around. The kitchen island is the perfect preparation space for cooks or ideal for less formal dining. The large table beyond makes for a spectacular dining spot, whether you're watching a winter storm roll in or have flung open the French windows to the balcony on a balmy summer evening.
The living room also has French windows leading to a second balcony - wonderful on a summer evening. The log-effect gas stove creates a cosy ambience when needed, especially when everyone gathers around on the twin L-shaped sofas. There's also a large Smart TV with a full Sky package.
Upstairs, two large bedrooms lead off opposite sides of the landing around the atrium, each with king-sized beds and ensuite bathrooms. Both have huge triangular windows to take in the sea views.
Two further ensuite bedrooms are located on the lower ground floor, one a twin and one a king, each with French windows leading out into the garden.
Step outside, and you'll find a sizeable lawned space; there's a sheltered corner, surrounded by wooden steamer chairs, for a stone fire pit. There's even an outside beer station if you're that way inclined (kegs can be ordered as an additional extra).
The centre of Trearddur Bay is a short stroll away. This village has a good choice of restaurants and pubs, including The Seacroft, Ocean's Edge Restaurant and Driftwood Restaurant and Bar. Children will love The Sea Shanty's extensive menu and ice cream parlour. In addition to the main beach, ideal for family beach days, there are plenty of sandy coves nearby, with easy access via the footpath running directly below the house.
Further afield from Garreg Hen, South Stack, with its towering cliffs and teeming bird life, is not to be missed. Outdoor enthusiasts should check out the activities on offer at Anglesey Outdoors, from sea kayaking to coasteering and much more.
Garreg Hen is an excellent holiday house for salty summer holidays, a golfing break, or a base for wild winter walking breaks exploring the stunning nearby Anglesey coastal path.
