From the start of term in September to the frantic run up to Christmas, this season can seem like a sprint. October half term in North Wales is the perfect chance for you and the kids to press pause. It’s a time to gather the gang for a family stroll, make the most of crisp days, revel in the crunch of leafy forest floors, and breathe in the brisk sea air, before heading back to your bolthole to luxuriate in a warming hot chocolate by the fire. Autumn is a unique time for capturing views of the everchanging forests and mountains of the North Wales landscape. Carpets of amber and crimson welcome you to this special time of year – often quieter than other seasons – giving you space to truly make your adventure your own.


With a hint of magic and mystery, October half term on Anglesey or in North Wales offers a trove of activities. From spooky ghost rides and pumpkin picking, to harvest food festivals to enjoy the sweet tastes of something local – there is something for the whole family to enjoy.

Choose a bolthole made for cosy movie nights and hot cocoa by an open fire, or head for a hideaway whose main attraction is a chef’s kitchen – perfect for foodie families.

There are spots seconds from the beach, and hideaways hidden by the edge of forest trails. Take your pick from enchanting villages such as Betws-y-Coed or Aberdaron to bustling seaside towns like Beaumaris and Menai Bridge.


Wherever you escape to on Anglesey or the Llyn Peninsula this half term, fun family times await. Though, if you can’t fully switch off for the week, where better to catch up on emails than a bolthole with a view? Many of our houses have quiet areas to set up your laptop and games rooms to keep the kids happy .
