Cottage for 6 perched above its own private beach
The stretch of coast between the maritime village of Moelfre and the wide open sandy beaches of Lligwy on the east coast of Anglesey is sublime. Moryn occupies perhaps the finest position of any house along this coast- perched above its own private beach with views over the bay and beyond. Arrive by leaving the charm of Moelfre and drive north along typical Anglesey lanes before branching off and taking the long access track to Moryn. The sense of anticipation grows as the sea appears and the busy world behind you disappears. What a spot!
Sliding wooden gates lead into the driveway and rear garden. Paths lead up to limestone terraces which give the most amazing vantage places to watch the sunsets. Through a blue wooden gate in the high walls to the left is a secret clifftop garden where you can watch friends or family on the beach below. To the front of the house is the main garden with lawned and stone flagged areas giving you front row seats to watch that view.
Enter the house and you'll find three spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms off the main corridor; two of the bedrooms have incredible sea views and the prinicpal bedroom also has an additional ensuite shower room. The main living areas beyond are flooded by light and a sense of space thanks to the vaulted ceilings, glazed far gable and multiple large windows looking to sea. The kitchen is perfectly located beyond the dining area with separate outside access- ideal for preparing al fresco meals for the terrace or for taking picnics down to the beach. The beach is a 100 yard crescent of golden sand, sheltered from the prevailing south-westerlies by the hillside behind.
The coastal path is right behind the house; take a short walk west to the Lligwy Beach Cafe for the most amazing woodfired pizzas and evening G&T's on the beach or head east along the cove-dotted coast to Moelfre to the famous Ann's Pantry for lunch. Then there's the whole of Anglesey to explore....a week may not be enough.
