Half term the laid-back Welsh way

May half term feels like a promise. It’s the gift of pressing pause on everyday life, gathering your gang for heady days by the sea, ice-cream weather, and fun-filled afternoons simply tinkering about. If you live in the North West it’s just a hop, skip and a jump (well, a few rounds of I-spy on your family car journey) away to a different world.

Worries seem to lift when you head to the coast, kids seem more carefree and days slip by with abandon. If you don’t yet have plans for this May half term, we know just the spot to make your family smile. Our boltholes range from cute and quirky to sun-filled and sprawling…winkle out those with bunkbeds made for midnight feasts, pool tables and games rooms, or hideaways whose main attraction is a chef’s kitchen perfect for foodie families.

There are spots seconds from the beach, and hideaways hidden by the edge of forest trails. Take your pick from bustling seaside towns like Beaumaris and Menai Bridge, to the more rugged Trearddur Bay. Or head to Rhosneigr, a treat for active families who’ll dip in and out of the waves whatever the weather.

Wherever you land on Anglesey or the Llyn Peninsula this half term, one thing’s for sure – it’s light years away from trying to entertain the kids while your head’s in work-mode. Though, if you can’t fully switch off for the week, where better to catch up on emails than a bolthole with a view? Many of our houses have quiet areas to set up your laptop.

Tempted? Browse to your heart’s content, because this collection of boltholes all has half term availability.
