Cottage for 4 with views over the castle walls
Back

Cockleshell Cottage sits within a stone's throw of the famous 800 year old walls of Conwy and a short walk from the incredible castle and delightful walled town.

Full Description

Inside the cottage is an oasis of calm; everything is well-thought out and personally selected, from curated statement pieces to not-so-obvious features such as the Millbrook mattress in the lovely main bedroom. The main living area is light and bright thanks to plenty of windows and french windows with the traditional stone inglenook and wooden dining table contrasting beautifully with the modern kitchen at the other end. Doors lead outside to a tiny but cute courtyard, a perfect spot for a pre-dinner G&T on a warm evening before heading down to Conwy. An unexpected bonus is the upstairs balcony off the bunk room which has views over the Castle Walls as well as distant views of Conwy Bay. There is also a communal garden area for residents of the terrace.

Location

Although known principally for its World Heritage listed castle and historic houses such as the Elizabethan Plas Mawr, Conwy has a thriving restaurant scene and some very fine pubs. You're spoilt for choice but try the Jackdaw for a special evening (but book well in advance) or Johnny Dough's for the best pizza in the area. The town is also well furnished with excellent independent shops and delis as well as interesting art galleries such as The Royal Cambrian Academy of Art. Park the car at the cottage and you can easily forget about for a week, leaving the incredible coastline and hinterland of Eryri (Snowdonia) for a second visit!

Things to do

"We toured the UK for three weeks and multiple AirBBs. This was among the best. For a small place, they clearly thought through a guest’s experience and used the space remarkably well. There was a lovely gift basket waiting, nicely appointed bath and kitchen. Cozy space within a 5 minute walk to the city walls. We’d return here for sure."
"Lovely accommodation and very walkable to Conwy attractions! Kitchen was well stocked with plates, pots, pans, etc. making it perfect for a home away from home."
"We loved our stay here! Everything was perfect. The house was meticulously equipped with every little thing we needed, from a tiny flashlight to a cushion for sitting by the small window upstairs. We felt at home, especially with the comfortable bed and the warm and cosy shower room with great pressure. This place was the best albergue we have stayed in so far! We could feel the delicate touch and care of the house owner. Thank you so much for everything!!"
"Thank you so much for accommodating us at short notice. What a wonderful find! This lovely little cottage was so warm and welcoming, perfectly appointed for 4 and with comfy beds for all. We really appreciated being in walking distance of all Conwy's amenities - Archway's fish and chips never disappoints. We also took your advice to walk up to Foel Lus - A new beautiful hill for us. Hope to be back one day!"
