A perfect beach cottage
Back
'Dihangfa' means a place of escape or refuge in Welsh and if your dreams of escapism involve being in a cottage on the beach with completely uninterrupted views of the sea and mountains, this could be the one for you. Aberdesach is one of the quietest beaches on this beautiful stretch of coast; the hordes crowd the beaches of Nefyn to the west and DInas DInlle to the east, leaving Aberdesach gloriously quiet on even the sunniest summer day. A group of former fishermen's cottages huddle behind the house and a few huts hunker down on the shore to the east but the rest is just as its always been- the beach in front and the sublime view of the three peaks of the Eifl to the west and of course, the most incredible sunsets from the front door.

Full Description

The main living area is open plan but seems even larger thanks to the floor to ceiling glass overlooking the beach. The woodburning stove sits in the centre and we cant imagine much better places to be than here, watching a winter storm with the fire roaring away. The kitchen and dining area lie beyond and french windows lead out onto the terrace. The bedrooms are to the other side of the house- a double facing the sea and a twin and King (with ensuite shower room) facing inland. There is also a separate family bathroom with indulgent slipper bath through the stained glass door.

Location

Aberdesach is a small hamlet of former fishermens cottages. The beach is a mix of pebble and golden sand and is surprisingly undiscovered. The endless beaches of the Llyn are a short hop away over the mountains of the EIfl and the higher mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) rear up inland. Bert's Kitchen Garden is just along the coast at Trefor and is highly recommended as is Braf cafe on the beach at Dinas Dinlle.
