A colourful Bolthole for four perched on the Aberffraw estuary
Back

Min y Don is a colourful Bolthole, which sits above the sandy estuary of the Afon (river) Ffraw. It looks out onto the huge expanse of sand dunes and long sandy beach beyond which makes the coastal village of Aberffraw so popular.

Full Description

Inside you'll find newly renovated, bright and cosy holiday cottage perfection. This lovely holiday cottage sleeps 4 and is dog-friendly, with miles of coastal path waiting to be explored with a waggy friend.

A lovely entrance hallway leads to the sitting room with comfortable sofas and armchairs, a toasty wood-burning stove and of course those ever-present views.

Beyond there is a separate dining room, again with a wood-burning stove and a dining table with a bench and chairs. The comfy sofa here is perfect to relax on after a meal or to tuck yourself away for a read, away from the TV. Through the dining room, there is a small, bright and well-equipped kitchen. A rear door leads out to another lovely seating area to the rear of the house.

Upstairs, you'll find a cosy twin bedroom to the rear and the family bathroom. The double bedroom to the front of the cottage looks out over the beautiful sea views.

Is there a better spot anywhere on the island to enjoy a sunny lunch or an evening sundowner than on the terrace in front of Min y Don? We don't think so!

Things to do

"A lovely relaxing few days in this delightful cottage. Great to sit on the terrace for breakfast/drinks with such lovely views over to the estuary. Good base for walks and nice to come back to such a cosy cottage. The Crown (Y Goron) a very friendly pub & Llys Llewelyn cafe great for lunch. Good circular walk to 'Church on the sea' & great walks along the beach. Look forward to coming back. Also love the decor and the paintings"
"Absolutely gorgeous setting, with outdoor seating looking out across the sand dunes.. perfect for wildlife and people watching! The house feels very peaceful and relaxing, but is in close driving distance (10mins) to both Rhosneigr and Newborough, and in walking distance to a really lovely beach. The house itself was lovely, cosy and clean and had everything we needed. The beds were particularly comfortable. We'd highly recommend to anyone"
"Difficult to fully capture what a beautiful location this is. The cottage itself works really well as a base and the walks on the dunes and to the beach are just magical. We did get around a little and the food shops in Menai were a particular highlight."
"A lovely, well kept cottage in a beautiful location. There is a beach within walking distance. It seemed like the ideal location for a walkers holiday, with Anglesey coastal paths nearby."
"Such a beautiful cottage right by a terrific estuary, walkable to an amazing beach. We had such a liveable time exploring Anglesey, and felt right at home in this lovely cottage. The hosts themselves (and the agent) were super helpful and the communication excellent. Highly recommended."
"Beautiful clean and cosy cottage in fabulous position overlooking estuary. Brilliant walks from the doorstep including Anglesey coastal walk. Excellent for birdwatching & managed to see seals in next cove over on way to Rhosneigr. Real home from home - hoping to return later in the year - wonderful stay."
"The location is idyllic and the house itself is gorgeously set out. It had everything we needed for a perfect home from home break. We’d been to Traeth Mawr before but hadn’t had chance to explore the village or the wider area, and in no time at all, we were totally seduced by it. Thought we’d miss the pub as it had recently closed down, but didn’t at all. Could have stayed forever."
