Traditional cottage in secluded village location
Back

Tyddyn Waen hides secretly down a narrow private lane in the lovely village of Llanddona in south east Anglesey. In a whole acre of sunny gardens, bursting with birds, sheltered by shrubs and trees, here you can find solitude and space.

Full Description

Inside your cosy little Welsh cottage is ample space. A large, modern and well-equipped kitchen hosts a breakfast bar and a dining table for 6 with church pew and bench seating.

From here a door leads through to a king size bedroom in pretty pastel colours and lush green views.

Or through to the sitting room with squashy leather sofas and vivid artwork by local artist Sian McGill. If you fancy a quick dart to the gardens from here, a door leads outside.

Two more comfortable bedrooms - a jaunty seaside twin room and a spacious master bedroom - both have serene garden views. There are two spanking new bathrooms – one family one with a deep bath perfect for a soak after a day's exploring and an en-suite shower room off the main bedroom

Things to do

"We stayed at Tyddyn Waun in May as a family of 4 and loved everything about it. The location and setting was peaceful and relaxing with no passing traffic and large grounds all around the property. We were very lucky with the weather which enabled us to enjoy the outside space with our Anglesey family who came to visit us.

The property itself was well equipped, spotlessly clean and modern. We met the owner Mal which was lovely as he was a local and I was able to chat to him in Welsh (I am originally a Llangefni girl). He was extremely friendly and helpful. The village pub The Owain Glyndwr was recommended so we walked there on our first evening and had a fantastic meal in friendly and welcoming surroundings followed by a game of darts where we met Mal's son who was equally as friendly as his dad.

All in all we had a fabulous time in our most favourite Bolthole to date and hope to re-visit one day in the future."
"Well equipped and beautiful cottage in a off the beaten track location, which is quite difficult to find. I would like to suggest either include owners contact number or a small sign post to point the direction of cottage. Location of cottage is ideal for exploring the beautiful island of Anglesey. The large garden was beautifully kept and a lovely area to have our morning beverages. Nice touch from the owners, milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, bottle of wine etc. To conclude a fantastic week was had by us all."
"We had a fabulous week in Tyddyn Waen. The cottage is immaculate, spotlessly clean and has really high quality furnishings (I loved the bath). We couldn’t fault it at all, and would highly recommend. I’m sure in the summer it’s a great place to sit in the (large) garden with a choice of lawns! We did meet the owners who were really nice people. Llanddona is a lovely village with higgledy piggledy paths throughout the village. The walk down to the beach (and especially back up!) definitely warms you up and gets the heart going - the road is 1 in 3! We found Boltholes and Hideaways to be excellent - great choice of high quality accommodation, the booking process was very easy, and the cottage information was very extensive. It’s the first time we’ve used you but I’m sure it won’t be the last."
