Halloween haunts for half term
Halloween, the spookiest holiday of the year and the best time for family magic and fun. Whether it’s picking the perfect pumpkin or daring a night zip line, we have pulled together a list of the best things to get you in the Halloween mood this half term.
The perfect pumpkin patch
Nothing says Halloween quite like picking the ultimate pumpkin, and where better than at Hooton’s Homegrown on Anglesey. Find your spooky squash whilst enjoying a taste of something local at the farm shop – the best place to pick up some seasonal produce and warm your hands with a hot cocoa.
After picking your pumpkin, bundle back to Efail Penrhyn, a snug three-bedroom barn conversion for an evening of carving. With a spacious kitchen and a dining table showcasing views out to the sea, it’s the ideal spot for the whole family to get their creative juices flowing.

Nighttime zip lines
For those looking for spooktacular thrills this Halloween then a trip to Betws-y-Coed’s Zip World’s Ffear Fforest is a must. This ticketed event, aimed at audiences 9+, is running from 9th October to the 2nd November 2025 and offers the chance to ride the Cursed Coaster and venture on the zip lines after dark!
Once you’ve had your thrills, cosy down in Bryn Afon. Continue the chilling scenes with a scary film, swap ghost stories and look at the stars or recover with a family feast around the table!

Monster movie marathons
If there’s one thing about North Wales, it’s that there are days where the weather is really weathering! If you don’t fancy trekking out in the rain, hunker down in a hideaway for a movie marathon. Beach Terrace’s cinema room is built for days like this. Cocoon yourself in with plenty of snacks and enjoy an afternoon film or two, escape to the garage for a game of table tennis or play a game of zombie hide and seek in the house.
For those wanting to make a splash in the rain, this home is right on the beach – your own sandy playground just a hop and a splosh to the sea.
