An elegant barn conversion tucked away in beautiful Anglesey countryside
Carrog Barn sits on the edge of the beautiful hamlet of Paradwys in South West Anglesey. Paradwys means 'paradise' in Welsh and this corner of the island is aptly named indeed - Carrog Barn being set in sheltered rolling countryside with ancient Carrog Woods just a stone's throw away.
The beautiful Newborough Forest, vast Malltraeth sands and famous beaches of Ynys Llanddwyn are just four miles away down pretty lanes. A short journey along the west coast brings you to quiet spots such as the dunes and beach at Aberffraw, the sheltered sandy cove at Porth Trecastell (Cable Bay) and the buzzing watersports mecca of Rhosneigr. Dine out locally at The Oyster Catcher or Y Goron (The Crown) in Aberffraw.
The barn, built from the distinctive mellow stone of the local area, was converted in the last few years to a very high standard. The owners have retained many elements that combined make it such a lovely holiday house. The beamed full height open plan kitchen/living room creates a light, airy space whilst the original splayed slit windows hark back to its rural past.
The open-plan living area is beautifully appointed with an elegant and well-equipped kitchen and dining area leading through to the spacious sitting area. Here, huge bi-fold doors enable you to bring the outside in and make perfect use of the lovely flagged terrace on sunnier days. On cooler days, the comfy sofas and wood-burning stove make snuggling up inside and admiring the views an equal pleasure.
Beyond the living area, you will find three perfectly appointed and spacious bedrooms - a twin, a double and a king-sized bedroom with ensuite. There is also a separate, spacious family bathroom.
Outside, you'll find plenty of parking, a lawned garden enclosed by stone walls and a stone-flagged patio with an outside table and chairs. There is plenty of parking and the barn is surrounded by lush fields and leafy copses. The perfect holiday Bolthole? We think so!
