How to win back a rainy day

Imagine the comforting pitter patter of rain onto the roof tiles or windows of your Bolthole, gazing out across the dramatic North Wales coastline with a cup of something hot and brown.

While it’s the perfect way to spend a day for lots of grown-ups, the pleasure of a rainy day is something that takes time to build, so it’s no surprise that with little ones in tow, there’s no time on the clock for misty ocean-gazing – especially not with a wealth of rainy day activities in North Wales at your fingertips.

So, if inclement weather drowns your plans, try some of our favourite indoor activities to win back your rainy day!

Wellies and coats on – it’s time to head out!

While you might need a jacket to get to and from the car, we promise that these spots all have a solid roof over them (one of them 500ft away from the rain!)

discover wildlife at Anglesey Sea Zoo

The biggest aquarium in Wales, the Anglesey Sea Zoo gives kids the chance to learn about the incredible creatures living in UK waters without a soggy trip to the beach!

Located just outside the village of Brynsiencyn, on the south coast of Anglesey, there are over 40 tanks with more than 150 native species of marine life (including conger eels, jellyfish, lobsters, octopus, seahorses, and more) to enchant and educate big kids and little ones alike.
