A 30-year devotion has nurtured Plas Cadnant to allow its true heritage to shine. The estate consists of a private historic main house, a cluster of stone outbuildings and around 200 acres of lush Anglesey space.
The real jewel in the crown though in this extraordinary estate is the garden itself extending to over 10 acres. The sublime restored walled garden right by the Coach House has impressive proportions covers just under two acres. Now considered amongst the loveliest twenty gardens of Wales, there are woodlands, a river running through a fairy glen with waterfall and a secret garden. Follow the borders crammed with brilliance to seek out the secrets. There's even a Tea Room.
If you can be lured away, an afternoon exploring Menai Bridge is essential and on your doorstep. Beaumaris is a short drive away to explore a castle and the Victorian pier.
Just along the coast is Plas Newydd a Grade 1 listed mansion house with remarkable gardens and views. Walk down to Moel Y Don and along the Menai Strait which is teeming with wildlife – curlews and seals galore. Or a 20-min drive gets you to Ynys Llanddwyn for the glorious long, sandy beach – even a swim if you’re feeling brave!Twr Marcwis Anglesey Column is another must visit – the viewing platform at the top of the Column is reached by an internal spiral staircase – get your 115 steps in to reach the top.
