House for 10 in wooded grounds with hot tub and sauna
Back
Coed yr Odyn (which means 'Lime Kiln wood' in Welsh) sits in 4 acres of grounds just outside the fishing village of Moelfre on the east coast of Anglesey. With 4/5 bedrooms and bathrooms, sauna, pool room and sea views form the hot tub, this is the perfect celebration house for an extended family or group of friends.

Full Description

A sweeping tarmac drive leads through the woods to get to Coed yr Odyn. Paths lead from the driveway to encourage exploration of the grounds- one path leads to a lawned area at the top, another snakes through shrubbery to a grotto underneath a limestone cliff before winding down to the ancient kiln. A perfect hide-and-seek location if ever we saw one.

Enter the house and beyond the entrance vestibule you'll find the games room to your right. A twin-window woodburning stove benefits this room as well as the kitchen the other side. The social spaces downstairs are mainly open plan and the large kitchen merges into the dining area which in turn becomes the sitting area. The kitchen is beautifully equipped and has a handy utility room with access to the sheltered rear patio. Patio doors from the dining area lead out to the wraparound balconies which have amazing sea views over Lligwy Bay- a stunning spot to watch the evening sunsets from the hot tub or the outdoor sofas. You'll also find a huge teak outdoor dining table and chairs and barbeque on the sheltered terrace on the opposite side.

The bedrooms are all to to be found in the opposite wing of the house- all have ensuite shower rooms with the master bedroom also having a sauna. There is a separate TV room/snug with woodburning stove, sofa and Smart TV- this converts to a children's bedroom 5 if the sofa bed if requested.

Stop for a sneaky treat on the sheltered shingle bay in the village and have an indulgent feast at Ann’s Pantry – plus the best cakes locally. There's the Kinmel Arms pub and Hufen Iâ Ynys Môn Anglesey Ice Cream makes batches in house using locally produced milk.

To the north is Ogof Arian an old smuggler’s cave locally and you have such a choice of fine beaches spread in every direction -Traeth Bychan, Porth Yr Aber, Porth Helaeth and Traeth Lligwy. For a slice of history, there are 17 ancient monuments to visit - Din Lligwy and Lligwy burial chamber are the most famous and sit evocatively placed on the coast up the road.

Or stay put and watch the sun set, glass of wine in hand.
