Cottage on the beach sleeping 6
Back
Niwl y Mynydd (mountain mist in Welsh) sits on the beach at Aberdesach, one of the quietest beaches on this beautiful stretch of coast. The hordes crowd the beaches of Nefyn to the west and DInas DInlle to the east, leaving Aberdesach gloriously quiet on even the sunniest summer day. A group of former fishermen's cottages huddle around where the little stream flows into the sea and a few huts hunker down on the shore near the house- the rest is just as its always been- the beach in front and the sublime view of the three peaks of the Eifl to the west and of course, the most incredible sunsets from the front door.

Full Description

The house is simple and without any fuss, revelling in its glorious location. The walk to the house sets the scene- over the little footbridge and along the coastal path past a few similar low-roofed cottages, your eyes constantly drawn to your left and the mesmerising views out to sea. Arrive at the cottage and you'll find a patio behind a low stone wall in front, the sea washing against the pebbles at the head of the beach in front. A porch leads to the sitting room with glass doors either side of the main door- did we mention the views are rather nice here? The kitchen/dining room is beyond with a door leading out to the rear garden which has an elevated patio with picnic bench.

Through from the kitchen/dining room are the three bedrooms and the family bathroom- simple but utterly fantastic.

Location

Aberdesach is a small hamlet of former fishermens cottages. The beach is a mix of pebble and golden sand and is surprisingly undiscovered. WIldlife is abundant and you may be lucky- he owners have a confirmed picture of an Orca breaching in front of the house and we at Boltholes have swam with Risso's dolphins and Grey seals here. The endless beaches of the Llyn are a short hop away over the mountains of the EIfl and the higher mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) rear up inland. Bert's Kitchen Garden is just along the coast at Trefor and is highly recommended as is Braf cafe on the beach at Dinas Dinlle.
