An inspiring Hideaway for six by the sea with Llanddona Beach at the bottom of the garden
Back
Wind your way down to the beach past the patchwork farmland and rolling hills of unspoilt Llanddona to arrive at Ty Gwyn. Perched on the edge of the beach, this semi-detached and beautifully converted former stone barn offers an abundance of peace and incomparable views.

Full Description

A vast sky hangs above and the light changes by the minute. When the sun shines, you can be on the beach in minutes or explore the island with Tÿ Gwyn as your base. Children (and dogs!) will love the ice cream bothy on the beach. When it rains, you fire up the wood-burner and watch ships pass by through the vast windows, as the weather puts on a show just for you. As dusk falls, you can recline on the sheltered veranda and watch the sun go down.

Interiors of wood, brick and stone have a cool, uncluttered design - a warm mix of old and new that works perfectly. The smart soft grey sofa sits harmoniously in the airy open plan sitting room with a fully equipped kitchen on hand. A long dining table is great for eating together, overlooking the coastal views. You may just prefer fresh langoustines cooked on a barbecue and washed down with bubbly outside in the garden!

Two double rooms with comfy beds have sea views, and what better way to fall asleep than to the sound of the waves? Fight over the one with the en-suite! The twin room is simple and airy. The large family bathroom is beautifully decorated and with bath and separate shower begs to be relaxed in.

Ty Gwyn is semi-detached - next door Ty Mawr also sleeps 6. With an adjoining door that can be opened and with two kitchens if both are booked it's a great place for 12 people to be gather but not have to spend every waking hour together!

The sandy blue flag beach of Llanddona runs for miles around to Red Wharf Bay and on to Benllech, with loads of eating places along the way. Walk the other way on the Coastal Path all the way to Penmon to find a magnificent lighthouse, Puffin Island and views to the Great Orme.

Beaumaris is a stunning Georgian seaside town and is only ten minutes away by car. Here you will find an incredible array of places to eat, shops to browse in and even a castle! Things to do

"We had a lovely stay. Very lovely cottage, plenty to see nearby. We will be visiting again!"
"Opened the door, and WOW!!! Absolutely perfect. Gorgeous Cottage, absolutely amazing view, view to die for. We had snow but not for long, listening to the disruptions elsewhere was as if we were in a different country. Certainly not worrying about how we get home, could stay here forever. Spent a lot of time sat on a bench outside, just listening and wrapped up, of course. Amazing memories for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Newborough Forest is a must to visit. Experienced the lovely cafe at the point to view Puffin Island, Snowden Mountain and Beaumaris - gorgeous town. Visited Fairy lane at the campsite near The Ship Inn. Waterfall at Moelfre lovely. Just perfect. Thank you to everyone for making our stay perfect and possible."
"A stunning house and spot on Llandonna. Comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen, possibly the comfiest sofa that exists and the most exquisite view and garden. Amazing to walk out to the beach or up the headland in the coastal path within seconds.
Thanks so much"
"Ty Gwyn was perfect in every way, the house wanted for nothing.
The location was incredible, I could have stayed for ever!
I could not believe how quickly the tide moved, the sea view was spectacular."
"Highly recommend Boltholes & Hideaways, we stayed at Ty Gwyn in Llanddona and everything was absolutely perfect, they had thought of everything to make your stay wonderful, the place was spotless, they were on hand at all times if needed, it's the little extra touches like making sure there is tea and coffee and a welcome pack that make a holiday special, this was our first time booking with these and we booked to go again next year whilst we were still there, this was the view from our garden in this truly magical place."
"Had a fabulous few days at Ty Gwyn, our second (and definitely not our last) stay here. It gave us just what we wanted & expected….personal space, isolation, peace, views and a roaring fire every night. On walking in, we both felt so at home and the Christmas tree was a perfect extra touch - couldn’t decide if it was real or false! Thank you for that.
The weather was very kind to us so beach walking every day with the dog and with very few other people around. I discovered that the Equestrian Centre sold fresh eggs from a stall on the road at £1.50 they were delicious and highly recommended.
For us, the only things that are missing from Ty Gwyn is a King size bed, a few small bowls of ramekin size to put nibbles in and an empty cupboard to store groceries - we just rearranged the crockery for our stay to give us a shelf and put it back when we left.
The house looked and smelt very clean and all credit to your housekeeper.
Love the Boltholes properties we have stayed in and highly recommend your Company to our friends. Looking at next year we see you are booking up so quickly so decisions need making sooner rather than later.
Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year."
