Full Description

Find soft colours, calming airy interiors and comfort. The main bedroom is bright and breezy with a large window to the rear garden. The cosy twin room is simply perfect. A family shower room is ideal for washing sandy days away and there is a handy cloakroom/WC too. The side sunroom has space to work or to sit and relax.

Rustle up a snack in the stylish open-plan kitchen or take a drive out to nearby Valley which has an excellent fish and chip shop.

On a lovely day, there is a BBQ area in the back garden in a little dell with its clawdd (welsh for an old stone bank). Kayaks and paddleboards can be hired locally to take off down the estuary.

Or pack up the beach gear and head down to the golden sand at Trearddur Bay beach - home to swimmers, windsurfing lovers, sea-fishing and rock pooling. Pristine waters have earned it a Blue Flag Award. The coastal path crosses the beach so you can hike for miles.

Location

Perched by the salt marsh at Four Mile Bridge near Rhoscolyn, Ynys Las is a seagull skip across from the water’s edge with direct access to the Anglesey coastal path, you can see the mountains from here stretching away into the distance. Nature lovers will enjoy a wealth of birdlife and wildlife here.

In spring, the wildflowers are overwhelming, in winter the skies are superb. The boardwalk and country lane walks take you over to the White Eagle at Rhoscolyn for lunch - enjoy the excellent food and breathtaking views. There is a beautiful organic farm and nature spot on the way with Welsh Black cattle, ponds and wildlife treats. The owner will share this with a tour for a small donation to Wales Wildlife Trust.

Holyhead mountain is close by, so too South Stack lighthouse and the RSPB Elin’s Tower. Spot those famous puffins - an absolute must on the “bucket” list. The A55 is a few minutes drive to whisk you across the Island to Snowdonia in 35 minutes.

Whether you want to go walking, birdwatching or spend time enjoying the fabulous beaches, Ynys Las ticks all the boxes. A fantastic base for an Anglesey holiday, with heaps of things to do nearby.

Things to do

"Lovely place, well positioned looking out over the wetlands. Bright and roomy open planned layout."
"Breathtaking views of the mountains, with a free airshow on weekdays courtesy of the RAF at Valley, brilliant to watch. The cottage is easy to find, in a very quiet cul-de-sac, and the locals are very nice, if you like to walk your dog there's a lovely little boardwalk all along the edge of the bay. Beautifully kept with every need catered for, we really enjoyed our stay, and we will be booking in again...Thank you"
"We had a lovely stay at Ynys Las. Beautiful bungalow. The setting is fabulous. Really comfy beds and everything you need for a relaxing stay. We have already booked again for later in the year. Boltholes & Hideaways have been fabulous in taking our bookings over the telephone. Nothing was too much trouble in meetings our requirements. Lots of communication by email and everything went smoothly."
