Overlooking one of Anglesey's best beaches
Back

Slap bang next to one of Anglesey’s most famous beaches, Porth Trecastell (Cable Bay), this is a dream bolthole for eight has breath-taking views.

The famous Stone Age chambered tomb, Barclodiad y Gawres sits in that view. Try to get here for the most unusual feature, seen just once a year as the sun rises on the summer solstice to see shafts of light shine directly to illuminate the chamber within. It’s magical…

Full Description

The kitchen is a hi-tech gleam of everything you could need. A cook’s dream with distracting views to stir up inspiration for the supper. With a handsome table for headland-view dining - a great place to gather for meals and the quality of light makes it a grand spot. Out on the balcony, for a fish supper, you can smell the sea on the wind. If chef wants a night off, pop down to the Oyster Catcher for local food and great ales – also with a view.

Large sofas make the sitting room a joy, and a wood-burner in the living room will make the days of wild weather worth staying in for.

Bedrooms offer deep comfort and continue the theme of pastel shades with a nod to the sea here and there. The king blue room has marvellous views of the sea and beach and shares gleaming. The "jack and Jill" bathroom is shared with the pink room next door - check out that bath for the soaks. Pink but not twee, a larger super king here is bliss after trails along the coast. The king green room with a four poster has a little ensuite and a morning view of the bay. A handy king bedroom on the ground floor with coastal views has a sparkling ensuite too – plenty of space to wash salty toes. As light fades at the end of the day, soak up the night skies and drift to the pretty bedrooms and fling open the windows to make the most of the breezes and dream of seaside escape.

Outside a large lawned garden has masses of space for the clan and any four-legged friends. There is plenty of space to stretch.

It’s a breeze to explore Anglesey from here. A few minutes in the car gets you to explore lively Rhosneigr its umpteen places to eat. The Sandy Mount House is a gem. Plus kite surfing, paddle boarding, surfing and golf on the doorstep.

Head up to the quirky village of Aberffraw for a cosy pub meal at Y Goron/The Crown and head for more sand on the vast beach.

Llanddwyn is a scenic tour away. Beaumaris is a 30-minute drive but worth a visit for castles, antique shops and ice-cream.

Anglesey’s coastline shines and you always have the sea for company. South Stack is a must do to view thousands of tiny seabirds sitting calmly on cliffside ledges and the lighthouse is a commanding visit.

Honestly, this is the place to be!
